Second chances and key connections: How Connex helped Wixcorp achieve their biggest partnership to date

Securing a foothold with large hospital systems is daunting, especially for a start-up. That was the challenge facing Wixcorp, an emerging mobile patient payment provider struggling to reach enterprise-level decision-makers. This is where we came in. 

By connecting Wixcorp with Regional One Health through our robust Membership Network, we facilitated a deal that once seemed lost. Through persistence and timely insight, we turned a missed opportunity into a major win — one that opened new possibilities for Wixcorp in the patient engagement market.

The pathway to this partnership began when a simple response to a holiday card from Wixcorp’s Co-Founder and CEO, Eric Wixom, put this transformative deal in motion.

However, despite their promising platform, Wixcorp faced a major barrier to entry. Without a recognized brand, demonstrating value to key stakeholders was a critical hurdle, and they struggled to reach enterprise decision-makers. Lacking the resources to organically expand their existing sales and marketing resources, Wixcorp turned to Connex.

The right partner at (almost) the right time… 

Wixcorp’s big breakthrough came when we introduced Eric to Judy Briggs, Vice President of Finance for Revenue Cycle at Regional One Health. The hospital urgently needed to modernize its patient payment system, which still relied on mail and postage, leading to missed payments and persistent revenue shortfalls. Wixcorp’s SMS-based platform offered the ideal digital alternative.

Unfortunately, despite the clear alignment, unexpected delays arose, and Wixcorp’s chances began to fade.

Competing priorities in Regional One’s IT department initially sidelined Wixcorp’s proposal, and an alternative solution was ultimately implemented. However, communication channels stayed open. When the competing vendor failed to meet expectations, Judy Briggs reached out for help once more, and Connex renewed the conversation. This time we helped Wixcorp refine their message and facilitated an on-site introduction that demonstrated precisely how the platform could resolve Regional One’s pressing payment challenges.

From roadblocks to results

Within two months, Wixcorp and Regional One agreed to a partnership. Regional One secured a patient payment solution that streamlined its revenue cycle while providing patients with user-friendly payment options. For Wixcorp, the deal signaled a key market breakthrough and provided an opportunity to deploy their technology in a prominent healthcare setting.
