Connex Partners

Building Value, Saving Time.

Leadership today can be isolating. Every decision feels urgent, every priority competes for attention. Success demands more than strategy, it demands resilience. Sound familiar? You’re not alone.

The Connex CHRO & Total Rewards Community was built for you, by executives like you. A curated, invite-only space to connect in confidence with your peers, pressure-test decisions before they define you, and access the hard-won lessons you won’t find in polished case studies.

We ask just two things in return: share candidly and pay it forward. Reciprocity is how we eliminate zero-sum thinking and build value together. That’s the engine of our success.

No echo chambers · No participation quotas · Gain more time than you invest.

Connex doesn’t just make introductions — they surface the right perspective at the right moment. They listen closely, ask the questions that clarify the real issue, and then remove the noise. It has accelerated problem-solving, strengthened decision confidence, and saved an enormous amount of time. That level of strategic connectivity is something I have not experienced elsewhere in the HR space.

What Our Members Are Talking About

AI Deployment

Adoption spans the full range, from conversational agents live in inquiry queues and copilots embedded in everyday workflows to environments where deployment is blocked by IT gatekeeping, legacy systems, and displacement fear. What separates them is approach: AI is an operating-model decision, not a tooling one, and progress comes from workflow redesign rather than software rollout. As transactional service shifts to automated tiers, business partners can move from administration to strategic, P&L-literate work. The discipline that should travel with the enthusiasm is a single test: a demonstrable business outcome, with any claimed savings requiring real proof.

Workforce Right-Sizing

Reductions, whether driven by funding, operating discipline, or expected AI gains, have reshaped the function as much as the workforce. Teams now carry the same scope with fewer people, executing separations with care while working to keep the performers who remain. The margin for error has narrowed: each remaining role carries more weight, and each departure costs more than the headcount line suggests. Internal mobility has become the central response, serving as the cost lever and the retention lever at once; skills ladders and talent marketplaces are how distributed organizations hold their best people without adding headcount.

Manager Capability Gap

The most reliable point of failure is the manager layer. It is where strategy either reaches the workforce or quietly stops. Promotion still rewards individual-contributor performance and calls the result leadership, and distributed work has removed the in-person osmosis that once compensated for thin development. The intervention that works is the coaching cascade, running from executive to manager and increasingly reinforced by AI coaching. The same gap surfaces in performance management, which no longer functions as designed; rebuilding it around continuous, manager-owned coaching depends entirely on managers who can actually coach.

Total Rewards Pressure

Costs are rising faster than employers can hold, and employees can't see most of what they already have. Double-digit medical trend, GLP-1 demand with no settled answer, and PBM opacity are driving a steady wave of carve-outs and RFPs, while distributed and frontline workforces remain unaware of the value already in their plans. Shifting more cost to employees has largely run its course as a lever, which puts the weight on plan design, vendor accountability, and communication that lands. The work runs on two fronts at once: contain the spend, and win the literacy battle.

Culture by Design

Culture has shifted from something organizations have to something they have to build. Distributed work eroded the informal apprenticeship that once carried culture forward: the observed norms and everyday mentoring that newer employees never received. Transformation fatigue and trust repair after restructuring have made the work harder still. Employees now read announcements skeptically, and each unfinished change makes the next one costlier. Culture is now deliberate, built through managers, reinforced at the site level, and owned rather than rented. It is the priority that never expires, and the one most quietly at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Connex HR & Total Rewards membership for?

Connex Partners is an invite-only executive membership community for senior HR and Total Rewards leaders at large, complex enterprise organizations. It is built for the executives accountable for workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, and people investment — CHROs, Chief People Officers, VPs of HR, VPs of Total Rewards, and VPs of Benefits and Talent — with directors and functional leaders participating selectively.

How is Connex different from other CHRO peer groups and HR networks?

Connex is confidential, reciprocal, and non-transactional. Peer exchange happens off the record among non-competing leaders, and partner introductions support decision clarity rather than acting as a vendor marketplace. Members engage across in-person events, virtual forums, trusted peer groups, and proprietary intelligence — only as much as they choose, with no participation quotas.

What topics do HR and Total Rewards members focus on?

Current member priorities include AI deployment as an operating-model decision, workforce right-sizing and internal mobility, closing the manager capability gap, Total Rewards cost pressure and benefits literacy, and building culture by design across distributed workforces.

What do Connex members get?

Members gain access to Connexion Live events, Virtual Forums (expert panels, think tanks, trusted peer groups, and fireside interviews), the Trusted Partner Platform, Connex AI Assets (an AI Academy in partnership with Everworker and an AI Maturity Assessment in partnership with ISG), mentoring and career support, and member-driven content such as the CSuite Edge — Inside Human Capital podcast and Inside CHRO.

How do I become a Connex HR & Total Rewards member?
